Lightwater Valley

Lightwater Valley is a theme park and shopping complex found 3 miles outside Ripon on the A6108 between Ripon and Masham.

The park is famous for The Ultimate, a unique terrain roller coaster which featured in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's longest roller coaster, for ten consecutive years between 1991 and 2001.

Lightwater Valley is currently home to a varied collection of amusement rides specially chosen to suit all age ranges and tastes, from white knuckle thrill rides to gentler rides for all the family.

The park is also home to some seaveral amusement rides, which have been specially built into the park's terrain, including the Rat Ride, Toad Hole and a splash boat ride.

As well as this the park has three green costumed entertainers called the Valligators, who act as the park's mascots and entertain the younger visitors to Lightwater Valley.

Lightwater Country Shopping Village is a relaxing and attractive day visitor attraction. Located in 175 acres of beautiful North Yorkshire countryside you will find ample coach and car parking, an informative visitor centre, a superb restaurant, excellent disabled access, plenty of seating, a friendly warm welcome and over 30,000 sq ft of undercover shopping.

As well as this there is the Lightwater Valley Bird of Prey Center, this is open all year round and houses over 60 birds of prey including eagles, owls, falcons and vultures and the main attraction Britain's largest golden eagle.
