The Forbidden Corner

Forbidden corner entrance

The Forbidden Corner was built as a private family folly, the brainchild of Colin Armstrong, an eccentric millionaire and former ambassador of Ecuador. Due to the demand of guests, it was opened to the public.

This Unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers and follies has been voted the best European folly of the 20th century by the Folly Fellowship and best children's attraction in Yorkshire. However, small children may struggle though as many paths and tunnels are unsuitable for push chairs.

Using clues on your ticket you must find your way round a huge glass pyramid, around paths and passages ant tunnels that lead nowhere, past extraordinary statues and through a network of underground paths, including a revolving room. At every turn there are decisions to make and tricks to beware of.

The forbidden Corner provides something a bit different that will appeal to adults and children of all ages.

There is also a café, gift shop and picnic area as well as ample parking.

This attraction is open every day between 1st April and 31st October, then Sundays only until Christmas.
